So it’s now officially 2023, which means that I’m returning to the world of writing, blogging, reviewing, and a lot more new hobbies that I’m going to be trying out!
The start of a new year also means it’s time to make some resolutions. I did this last year, and I managed to stick to over half of them, so let’s hope I can keep up the same success rate this year! I’ll try and keep them attainable…
Number 1!) – Start my next book
This is the one that I’m most determined to stick to (and most excited to start). After I finished writing my first idea, I took some time to think about which one I’d do next. I went back and forth for a while, but one idea stood out and wouldn’t leave my mind, so all that remains is to start the plan, and I can’t wait!
Number 2!) – Edit, re-edit, and ‘attempt’ to get published
Since I started my break, I haven’t revisited the first draft of my book yet, (I wanted to return with fresh eyes) so I’m looking forward to going back and doing some editing, neatening things up and seeing what needs to be changed and improved.
The second half of this resolution is a bit more of a pipe dream than a serious goal, and it’s kind of out of my hands whether it’ll come true or not, so I’m not too worried about it. That being said, I will actually try to look into the process and see if I can make it happen!
Number 3!) Start up hobbies again
For a long time now I’ve had some plans for different YouTube channels, and recently I’ve been making preparations to actually get another one of them started, so hopefully in the new year I can get that up and running.
As for some other hobbies, I’ve been getting back into drawing and painting, and I’ve also been really enjoying doing my dancing again, so I definitely want to keep those up.
Finally, Number 4!) Be a better blogger!
I have to hold my hand up and say, I’ve been a terrible blogger recently! I took a big break after finishing the book, then I caught a bad flu right after which really knocked me sideways for a few weeks, but ultimately that’s just a big excuse, and the truth is that I kind of thought I had nothing interesting to say anymore.
When I first started the blog, I intended it to be a sort of diary about the process of writing for the first time, and now that first book process is kind of… done, I’ve reached the end of the blog’s intention, and so I felt like I had stayed out my welcome.
But… I don’t actually want to give it up, I think I just need to change the subject, to stop limiting it and just write posts about whatever I fancy that week. So, from 2023 onwards, I’m not just the world’s worst writer, I’m also the world’s worst artist, dancer, YouTube video maker, photographer, and whatever else I can try out!
So thank you so very much for reading, it feels truly great to be back, and I hope to see you again soon for a wonderful 2023. Happy New Year!
